What ages are allowed in MVFF?
We accept athletes ages 4-11
Do you need to be in Medina Valley ISD or Medina County to participate?
No, we have athletes from all over the greater San Antonio area.
Is this league co-ed?
Yes, we encourage all boys and girls to come play this amazing game together
How long is the season?
Rec league is 5 weeks long and our Elite league is 5 weeks with a tournament on week 6
How long is each game?
Rec league games are 40 minute games and Elite league games are 48 minutes
What size footballs do you use?
Divisions 5U, 7U and 9U all use a pee-wee sized ball, while 11U uses a junior sized ball.
Can my child play in a different age group?
Yes, your child is always welcome to play up in age, but never at a lower age group
How do you verify ages?
During registration parents are required to provide a birth certificate or passport with the childs name and date of birth.
Do you play in all weather?
We play in almost all weather as long as it is safe for the athletes. We will not play in lightning and will make a determination on game days in the event of other weather.
How do you become a coach?
All of our coaches are volunteers. Each coach registers as a volunteer and must pass a background check prior to receiving a roster.
How do you determine teams?
Rec league teams are randomized based on skill level and school if possible, with the exception of the coaches getting their child on their team. Elite is on a friend request/coach request and team system.
If I have siblings at the same age, can they be on the same team for rec league?
Siblings in 5U and 7U may request to be on the same team, please input this info under needs or requests when registering or by emailing medinavalleyflagfootball@gmail.com
Siblings in 9U and 11U will be randomized and have a chance of not being on the same team unless a parent is coaching
What do the league winners receive?
Each league winner will receive a championship ring. League winning teams are also eligible for regional NFL tournament bids.
What does my league fee cover?
League fees cover a reversible jersey, shorts (for elite only), and flags for each athlete to keep. The fees also help to cover the referee costs, field rental costs, ring costs and staff costs.
Can I get a refund?
*Refund Policy*
Refunds are given in full (minus a non refundable NFL Flag processing fee of $3) prior to ordering uniforms. Refunds after uniforms are ordered will be given minus a $40 fee. Once the season begins there are no refunds.
